Problems of Cub Cadet Challenger 750 and How to Fix Them
With an industry-leading set of features, Cub Cadet’s Challenger 750 model is the latest addition to the brand’s utility vehicle lineup. This model of Cub Cadet Challenger is very sturdy and durable. It provides comfort in rough terrain rides.
UTV vehicles go through a lot of rough rides and pressure. They often even cross really muddy roads so the tires get covered in mud and dirt. So, it is very normal for them to have problems. However, if you know the solutions you can solve the problems by yourself most of the time, this will save you from a lot of stress.
1. Transmission Problem
If you experience something like a grinding sound when you put the transmitter command in reverse, that is how you know your UTV has a transmitter problem. Cub Cadet hydrostatic transmissions come with components such as pumps and motors. No matter how much you maintain them, they will run into problems after some time. Problems with the transmitter occur because of rust and when lubricant is dried up. Transmission problems are also caused by the fact that the gears did not engage correctly.
Solution
If you find that the transmission problem is happening because of the fluid then you can try to flush the fluid out and put in new fluid. Depending on how much oil gets into the clutch lines, you may have to drain them. If this is not the case then you can get your transmission out and clean it properly. This often solves the problem. However, if that does not work, you can readjust the clutch to see if it works fine. Otherwise, you might need to take help from a professional.
2. Engine Problems
If you face sudden shutdowns with your Cub Cadet UTV, then that might be because of an engine problem. Engine problem usually occurs when you are driving up a high or hilly area. This is mainly due to the engine’s oil overheating. Some users have complained that the gauge does not show the oil condition, so they can not tell sometimes if the oil is too low while driving. And that is when this problem occurs.
Solution
Engine problems can be easily solved by refilling the oil and cleaning the air filter and oil filters. But if it still does not work you might need to get your engine checked up by a professional.
3. Clutch Problems
Sometimes you might experience that your clutches are not working while you are driving your Cub Cadet Challenger 750. It is mostly caused by the too-tight clearance between the clutch release bearing and the clutch plate. Alternatively, the release mechanism might have too much friction.
Solution
To solve the clutch problem you have to reset adjustment to a specified setting. You will need to follow the manual for that. Also, Cub Cadet Challenger 700 series’s clutch is not satisfactory. This is something you will need to deal with if you buy this vehicle.
4. Problems With Shifting
Many users reported having problems with shifting while driving their Cub Cadet 750. Sometimes, when you shift into reverse it does not work at all. This happens because of debris getting in the gears of your UTV. Also, if you have ever replaced the parts of your Cub Cadet UTV with regular UTV parts, this might also create this problem.
Solution
You should only use Cub Cadets parts and attachments if you replace or add something to your Cub Cadet 750 UVC. Also, you should clean the debris after every ride, so that the mud or dust does not turn into something permanent and damage your UVC, and causes problems in shifting.
5. Steering Problems
When you will be driving your Cub Cadet Challenger 750 for the first time, the steering may seem very heavy. However, you might get used to it after some time. Heavy steering is not a problem for all users, but for some users, it is a problem.
Solution
You can solve the heavy steering problem of your Cub Cadet Challenger 750 by taking the steering out and spraying the steering with lubricant if you do not get used to the heavy steering.
6. Broken Muffler
The broken muffler is not a common problem. It happens rarely. Broke muffler will cause a loud rumbling sound in your UVC vehicle. Usually, this happens when there is a crack or hole in the exhaust pipe or muffler. As a result, your vehicle makes noise when you press down the accelerator pedal.
Solution
You will need to stop driving if you encounter broken muffler problems. Because this can cause serious accidents. The exhaust system may be the cause of your car overheating. An irreparable muffler can cause a blockage which can cause the engine to overheat or be completely unable to run. So, you should take it to a professional mechanic right away to fix the problem.
Final Words
Of course, any vehicle made by UVC will eventually develop problems. So, you should not worry about the Cub Cadet Challenger 750’s shortcomings. Even with its problems, this vehicle is an amazing off-road vehicle that is perfect for heavy-duty work. By performing regular maintenance, the Challenger 750’s problems can be easily solved and reduced.
You didn’t show a solution to shutdown due to low oil overheating. And you mention the muffler problem as rare… it occurs on nearly every machine along with all 3 clutches being junk just like the Hisun motor.
Cub Cadet Challengers are lemons that the BBB should get involved with and kick Cub Cadet to the curb. These machines are in the shop more than on the job.
